Growing up, Krista was drawn to the power of storytelling; repeatedly watching and absorbing the language of cinema. After settling in New York, she took advantage of every opportunity to learn all facets of the film production machine: shooting, editing, broadcasting, and even driving a production truck all over Manhattan.
Krista’s work ethic is demonstrated in her quick rise from freelance production assistant to producer on commercials, music videos and live events (and everything in between). She eventually joined A&E Networks where she spent over a decade. She transitioned from production to creative, eventually assuming the role of SVP Brand Creative for HISTORY, overseeing all aspects the brand.
She is proud to have led some of the most successful campaigns in television history from ratings giants Hatfields & McCoys to series mainstays Pawn Stars and American Pickers. She formed and executed marketing for the network’s first scripted drama series, Vikings, from the ground up and personally oversaw it for the show’s incredible six-season run. During her tenure, she began producing long-form content and specials for History, garnering an NAACP Image Award for Best Documentary as well as multiple Primetime and Daytime Emmy nominations.
Krista took her years of experience guiding a creative marketing team and translated that into leading film teams. She has directed music videos for artists such as Justin Bieber, Tyga, Kris Kristofferson, Lynyrd Skynyard, and many more. Her brand work includes directing commercials for HULU, FOX, ABC, and CBS.
The result of her collective experience in both production and creative is her ability to wear multiple hats; she is equally adept at managing a team, maximizing production value, budgeting and handling logistics as she is dreaming up concepts, writing scripts and directing talent. She remains focused on how to best engage the audience and convey emotion, all while having a great time.
She is proud to be a part of free the work, a curated talent discovery platform that connects underrepresented creators.
Krista keeps an “Adventure List” on her refrigerator. Items checked off her list? Running the NYC Marathon, jumping out of an airplane at 18,000 feet, and tracking polar bears in the Arctic. As a very fortunate breast cancer survivor, she believes there are plenty more adventures to be had!
