Thor studied at the University of Toronto in the Theatre Specialist Program, a theoretical and performance art school. He became interested in film making as a logical offshoot of his theatre experience. Initially, he wanted to learn all that he could about technical processes and the emerging field of digital filmmaking. He quickly became an expert in digital effects, animation and editing. Thor is a certified Flame operator, an experienced editor, and he has effects directed nearly every type of VFX and animation from simple pencil cell frame animation to pixilation to Mo-Cap to liquid simulation and complete CG modeling of cars from scratch.

In the late 1990’s, Thor started Chelsea Digital as part of Chelsea Pictures. Together with a group of talented artists and craftsman, he created a more flexible, more efficient and smarter production model than he had traditionally known. It proved to be a great success.

In 2006, Thor started Guerilla FX, a production company that handled projects from concept to production to completion for TV commercials, websites/banner ads, and broadcast design. Guerilla FX sparked his passion for integrating his theatre directing and dramaturge with his editing and VFX knowledge.

Lair is the culmination of Thor’s experience over the years, which includes working with clients that range from AT&T to Xerox and with agencies like Y&R, CP+B, FCB, MTV Viacom.
